Winter

It's been a long winter. Spring is definitely here in TN bringing lots and lots of rain. Everything is muddy. As a family we've been fighting colds and flu lately. I came down with a cold in the middle of February and have yet to shake it entirely. I was almost over it and then last weekend came down with the flu. Which I promptly shared with the boys. Vance didn't get the flu but he had a nasty bacterial infection two weekends ago with high fever and "crud". We've been a sorry bunch lately.
I blame my work as we had 115 students out last Monday, I was out that day too. The school system seemed content to let this end of the county die off and very belatedly closed school only 1 day early due to sickness. We are off the next two weeks for spring break anyway! Yippy I can finally get some sleep. Vance and I went to bed last night at 7:30 and didn't get up until 8am. We couldn't believe it because we never sleep like that, but we've just been really worn down.

I'll be 18weeks tomorrow, and breezing right along. If I hadn't been sick with other stuff I really would be almost symptom free. At our 15 week check up we listened to baby's heart beat. It sounded healthy and strong. On April 6th we go for our ultra sound appointment. We are going to try to find out if we are having a boy or girl. I can't wait! This pic is almost a month old now as it's me at 14wks. There has definitely been some filling out since then.

Police Explorer's Awards Banquet
2/21/2009
The Watertown Police Explorer's finally had there award ceremony. They had originally intended to have it in December, but couldn't get the plaques ordered in time. So they held it on a very sloppy night in Feb. It was cold and raining and trying to turn to ice. I had been sick all that weekend and crawled out of the house to go watch Shane receive his awards. They Police Explorer's served everyone dinner. I had to cringe as I watched some of the kids have wars with the serving utensils before sticking them in the food. Here Shane receives his award from his Lieutenant while the Mayor and Police Chief look on.

All the kid's that received awards for their service. Most had over 200 hours of community service for the previous year.

The kids not in uniform for this picture are the new recruits.

Shriners' Party 12/9/2008

Shriners yearly Christmas party. They always put on quite a show. It was extremely crowded this year. You just about couldn't walk through all the clowns and people. Lil' Vance had a good time as always.

Snow Fall 12/12/2008

These pictures were just for fun. We didn't have very many snow days this winter. I think only two days. This was one of them with some accumulation that lasted most of the day. I had the opportunity to get out and take some pictures because of course they closed school down.
